Singapore – The Singapore Slingers announced today the signing of their first three Singaporean players for the 2012 AirAsia ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) Season.
Local stars Lim Sheng Yu, Oh Wei Jie Desmond, and Wong Wei Long signed new contracts with the Singapore’s first and only Professional Basketball Club late last week. Forward Sheng Yu will be entering his 2nd season, while Guards Desmond Oh and Wei Long will be playing in their 3rd season with the Slingers.
Michael Johnson, General Manager of the Singapore Slingers said “We are delighted that Sheng Yu, Desmond, and Wei Long have signed for the 2012 ABL Season. All three players are young and have shown great potential over the last few seasons. We expect all three to step up and make a strong contribution on and off the court for the Slingers in 2012.”
The Singapore Slingers, which finished last season as a Semi Finalist, also announced last week the signing of US Imports Donald Little and Louis Graham, and Filipino Import Donald Dulay for the upcoming ABL battles.
The 3rd Season of the AirAsia ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) tips off on January 14th, with the Slingers testing the mettle of the Indonesia Warriors for their opening match on Sunday, January 15th, 4:00PM, at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. Tickets will be on sale through Sistic at www.sistic.com.sg.
