The Singapore Slingers finished the 2015-16 ABL regular season with a 100-73 win over the Saigon Heat at the OCBC Arena in Singapore this afternoon.
The Slingers led at every break as both teams had an eye on the start of the ABL play-offs next weekend. The Slingers continued to get great contributions from their local players with Wu Qingde a standout finishing with 14 points, Wong Wei Long 11 points, Delvin Goh and Toh Qing Huang 8 points each.
Slingers imports Justin Howard led all Slingers scorers with 17pts & 16rebs, Xavier Alexander 17pts & 4 rebs, & Kris Rosales 14pts.

Xavier Alexander: 17 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists & 4 steals
Wu Qingde: 14 points, 2 assists & 2 steals

With the win the Slingers posted their best regular season record in their 6 seasons in the ABL posting a 16-4 win/loss record. The Slingers also posted a team best 10 game win streak during the season.
The Slingers (16-4) finished with the same record as the Malaysia Dragons (16-4) thus a tie breaker was needed to separate the two teams for the #1 seed. After splitting their 4 games the ABL used the total points win difference over the 4 games. The Dragons edged the Slingers by 4 points to lock down the top spot on the ABL ladder.
