The Singapore Slingers will play their first home game of the 2015-16 ABL season on Sunday when they face a very talented Mono Vampires Team from Thailand. Like the Slingers Mono has yet to play a home game starting the season with 2 straight away games.
Mono is stacked with a very talented squad of local Thai players and 2 impressive foreign imports. Standing at 219cm or 7’2″ and 300pounds or 136kgs man mountain Anthony McClain is the biggest player in the league and Mono’s second import Quincy Okolie is a high flying shot blocker.
The Slingers will need big contributions again from their local players to combat a Mono team who have just come off winning the Thai Basketball League Championship.
For the Slingers the team will again rely on Imports Xavier Alexander and Justin Howard to led the way and look for big contributions for the 9 local players on the roster. The Slingers bench were able to out score the Saigon Heat bench 21 – 6 in Saigon which helped propel the Slingers to a 86-74 road win.
