Singapore Slingers 83 – Hitech Bangkok City 80
The Singapore Slingers extended their win streak to 8 games with a 83 – 80 win against the defending ABL Champions Hitech Bangkok City in Singapore today.
The Slingers started slowly and trailed Hitech by as many as 11 points in the 1st quarter before pulling back the margin finishing the period trailing Hitech (17-14). The second period was a back and forth battle that saw both teams trying to establish a margin going into the half time break, but again the game stayed close with the teams only separated by 2 points at the half time break, (37-35) in favor the Thai team.
The Slingers took their first lead of the game in the 3rd period but could not break away from the defending Champions and the teams went into the final quarter locked at (55-55).
The Slingers seemed to take control of the game midway through the final period as they established an 8 point buffer only to make some careless mistakes down the stretch that allowed the defending ABL champions to pull within 3 points in the final minute of the game. The Slingers turned the ball over twice in the final 38 seconds without getting a shot and that gave Hitech several chances to tie up the game and send it in to overtime, but the Thai’s were unable to convert leaving the Slingers to take out another thriller at the OCBC Arena in Singapore.
For the Slingers, it was again local star Wu Qingde that lead the scoring with 19 points (5-7 from the 3 points line) He was backed up by Xavier Alexander who finished just 2 assists away from a triple double finishing with 17 points, 10 rebounds & 8 assists.

The Slingers now prepare for the rematch against the Pilipinas MX3 Kings who took the Slingers to overtime just one weeks ago and are coming off an impressive win against the Saigon Heat in Saigon.
