The Singapore Slingers extended their club record winning streak to 10 when the defeated the visiting Saigon Heat 84-69 at the OCBC Arena today. The win keeps the Slingers 2 games clear at the top of the 2015-16 ABL ladder with a 13 – 2 record.

The Slingers back court led the way today with Asean Import Kris Rosales finishing with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. His back court partner Wong Wei Long did his part by finishing with 19 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists. Desmond Oh had his best game in weeks finishing with 9 points, 3 rebounds and 1 steal.

Slingers American imports Justin Howard 17 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists and Xavier Alexander 10 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists, filled the stats sheets as usual although they didn’t play at their best today.

For the visiting Saigon Heat, new American Import Paul Williams had a solid outing finishing with 22 points and 10 rebounds.

Slingers Head Coach Neo Beng Siang said ” We are obviously happy to get the win and extend our winning streak to 10 game, how after starting the game with a lot of energy and jumping to a good early lead where backed off at times during the game letting our opponents back into the contest.”. Coach Neo added, ” I believe we have a fair bit of improvement left in this team and we hope to peak at during the play-offs”

The Slingers (13-3) will be at home again this Friday with a top of the table clash against the defending ABL champions Hitech Bangkok City (12-4).
