On a night where everything seems to be going right, the Singapore Slingers notched its second win in
the 2023 ABL Invitational in dominant fashion after winning 111-69 over the Cooly Bangkok Tigers. After
a slow start the Slingers pulled away late in the first quarter and never looked back with World Import
Kentrell Barkley leading the way with 13 first quarter points.

The Slingers lifted the tempo in the second quarter and piled on 39pts to take a commanding lead into
the half time break. Head coach Neo Beng Siang was pleased with the way the team is starting to come
together especially the imports who are getting a better understanding with each game.

 

 

The Slingers imports combined for 72 points gave them the edge over their opponents. However it was
punch the Slingers received from their Bench that was a welcome sight. The Slingers bench players were
active and combined for 29 points against the Tigers. Local players Zach Helzer who had a second
straight quality outing finsihed with 11 points and five steals while Justen Chiam recorded 12 points.
Import CJ Gettys had his best game to date with the Slingers finishing the game with a double-double,
20 points, 16 rebounds and seven assists while Alexander flirted with a triple-double tallying 20 points,
seven rebounds and nine assists.

Up next for the Singapore Slingers is the challenge against the veteran and undefeated Hong Kong
Eastern roster on 7 th January at 8:00pm.
