Singapore 2nd January 2016:
The Singapore Slingers will be looking to extend their current win streak to 6 games when they return home for the first time in nearly 8 weeks to face a revitalised Mono Vampires roster after the Christmas break.
Mono have used the break to tweak their playing roster adding former UCLA Bruins 213cm big man Michael Fey to partner 218cm man mountain Anthony McClain. This front court pairing gives the Vampires the biggest big man duo in the ABL and will be a handful for a much smaller Slingers roster.
The match up between Slingers centre Justin Howard and the Vampires giant Anthony McClain will be a feature of the match. Howard is currently the leading scorer in the ABL competition averaging 23.3ppg and he is also the leagues leading rebounder at 15.8 rpg. McClain is not far behind averaging 18ppg, 14.1 rpg (3rd highest) and 2.8 bpg (2nd highest) in the league this season.
The Slingers are returning to play on their home court at the OCBC Arena for the first time since 13th November 2015, the team has played their last 6 games all away due to the unavailability of their home venue, however the team performed well away from home winning 5 out of their 6 away games, including 5 straight.
The Slingers currently share top position on the 2015-16 ABL ladder with Hitech Bangkok City, both teams have a 8 – 2 record.
