Singapore 28th December 2015
The Singapore Slingers will look to tip-off the new year with a win at home against the visiting Mono Vampires (Thailand) on the 3rd January. The Slingers who are currently on a 5 game win streak will be playing their first home game since the 13th November after a run of 6 consecutive away games.
Forced to play 8 of their first 10 regular season ABL games on the road due to venue unavailability the Slingers are now set to play 8 of their final 10 regular season games on their home court at the OCBC Arena, starting with a game against the Mono Vampires this Sunday at 4:00pm.
Currently sitting atop the ABL standing with an 8 win – 2 loss record the Slingers will be pushing hard to try and drive home this advantage in their attempt to secure a top 2 finish going into the 2015-16 ABL play-offs.
Slingers Captain Desmond Oh said, “We really hope the local crowd will come out and show their full support for the Slingers, we have played away against the Malaysia Dragons, the Saigon Heat and Hitech Bangkok City and their local crowds are loud and really get behind their teams, they make it tough for the visiting team.
“We hope to get the same support at home from our fans in our remaining 8 home games at OCBC Arena, especially with 9 National team local players on our roster”. said the Slingers Captain.
The Slingers have now won 10 of their 13 home games played at OCBC Arena over the past 2 seasons including wins at home this season against the Mono Vampires and the Malaysia Dragons.
The game between the Slingers and the Vampires will signal the start of the second half of the ABL 2015-16 season.
