Singapore 7th Feb 2016:
The Singapore Slingers will be looking to bounce back after the defending ABL champions Hitech Bangkok City broke the Slingers 10 game win streak in Singapore on Sunday. Hitech Bangkok City handed the Slingers their first loss in 11 games and also broke the Slingers undefeated home record this season, (7-1).
The Slingers (13-3) will have 4 games in the next 2 weeks to finish out the regular season, starting with the Mono Vampires in Bangkok on Wednesday night 10th Feb, the Slingers will then head back to Singapore to face arch rivals the Malaysia Dragons at the OCBC Arena on Valentines Day, 14th Feb at 4:00pm, the game against the Dragons could very well decide which team finishes on top of the 2015-16 ABL regular season ladder with Hitech Bangkok City (12-4) and the Malaysia Dragons (12-4) both just one game behind the Slingers.
The Mono Vampires will be full of confidence coming off a strong home win against the Pilipinas MX3 Kings, with new American Import Cleveland Melvin posting 41pts, 14rebs & 4 Block shots in his debut with the Vampires, Melvin joins fellow American, 218cm man mountain Anthony McClain who finished with 16pts, 16rebs & 8 assists in Mono’s win against the Kings.
The Slingers will be looking for a strong outing from their imports Justin Howard & Xavier Alexander to counter Mono’s high flying duo and they will also be looking for big contributions from their local players if they are to get a win away from home.
