13 January 2016:

The Singapore Slingers will seek a club record 8th straight win when they host the reigning ABL Champions Hitech Bangkok City at the OCBC Arena this Sunday 17th January at 4:00pm

The Slingers current sit a top the 2015-16 ABL ladder with a 10 win – 2 loss record while Hitech is just a 1/2 game behind the Slingers with a 9-2 record. If Hitech, who are play the Saigon Heat in Bangkok tonight, beat the Heat as expected, then both the Slingers & Hitech will go into Sunday’s clash with a 10-2 record. This winner of Sunday’s top of the table clash will take soul possession of the top spot on the ABL Ladder, for at least one more week.

The Slingers will be strengthened by the return of guard Wong Wei Long (suspension) and forward Leon Kwek (illness) for Sunday’s game.

The defending champions however boost the league best big man tandem in reigning ABL MVP 218cm centre Chris Charles and 213cm power forward Steven Thomas. Hitech have also added high scoring Filam imports Fred Goldstein and Tyler Lamb to their very talented local contingent which make the Thai team one of the favourites to defend their title.

The Slingers are coming off a tough overtime struggle at home last weekend against the Pilipinas MX3 Kings and will be in need of a much better performance if they are to extend their current win streak to 8 straight games and stay undefeated at home this season.

Singapore Slingers 2015-16 ABL record: 10 – 2

Home game record: 4 – 0

Away game record: 6 – 2
