The Singapore Slingers bounced back from their first loss in 11 games with a dominating performance against the Mono Vampires in Bangkok today. Mono scored the games first 2 points but from then on the Slingers dominated the match, eventually running out comfortable 97-69 winners.
This win extends the Slingers regular season record to 14 win & 3 losses with just 3 games left to play in the regular season.
The Slingers well balance attack sore the team led at end of each quarter 27-16, 54-29, 74-44, 97-69. Import Justin Howard led the way with 26pts, 16rebs & 2 assists but he was well backed up by Xavier Alexander 17pts, 5 rebs & 5 assists. Wong Wei Long 12pts, 4rebs, Desmond Oh 12pts & 3 assists, Delvin Goh 9pts, 6 rebs & 4 assists.
Slingers Head Coach Neo Beng Siang said ” i was happy with the energy and effort we had to start the game today, our defense and pressure was very good throughout the first half which enabled us to take a 25 point lead into half time”. “We had good contributions from a number of players tonight and it was a good team win” said Neo.
