Singapore 24th January 2018

The Singapore Slingers and the Malaysia Dragons will face off at OCBC Arena in Singapore on Sunday in the second leg of their annual Straits Cup series. The Straits Cup, in its 3rd season, is a mini series within the ABL season where the two teams play each other on their respective home courts with the winner of the series getting bragging rights over their causeway rivals. Both games also count as regular season ABL matches.

The Slingers grabbed a win in the first leg of the series on Sunday and hold the upper hand coming home for the second leg. The Slingers fought out a tough 94-85 win against the Dragons in Kuala Lumpur last week. Led by imports Xavier Alexander 33pts & 5 assists, Chris Charles 25pts & 13rebs and ABL Local player of the week Delvin Goh 16pts, 7rebs 7 4 assists.

Slingers coach Neo Beng Siang although pleased with the Slingers win let the players know that the teams home form has been disappointing and with the Dragons looking to avenge their loss at home it will be a battle for the Slingers to get back on track on their home floor.

The Slingers currently sit 5th on the ABL ladder with a 6-6 record while the Dragons sit in 7th place with a 3-5 win/loss record.
