The Singapore Slingers have finalised their roster for the 2015-16 ASEAN Basketball Season. With Larry Liew and Russel Low unavailable this season due to National Service duties and study pressure the Slingers have recruited some young and exciting local players for the 2015-16 season. The team commenced pre season training on the 5th Oct after the Singapore National Team returned from the FIBA Asia Championship in early Oct.
The Slingers have added imports Xavier Alexander-USA and Kris Rosales-Filipino to join returning import Justin Howard. Veteran local players Desmond Oh, Wong Wei Long, Ng Han Bin & Tan Chin Hong all return for their 6th season, Delvin Goh returns for his 3rd season. The Slingers have added local rookies Leon Kwek, Toh Qing Huang, Kelvin Lim & John Ng to the Slingers roster.
Although disappointed to be missing Larry Liew and Russel Low for this season, Coach Neo Beng Siang said “This is a great opportunity for some new players on our roster to step up and make an impact this season”
The Slingers start their 2015-16 campaign with 2 straight away games vs defending Champions Thailand Bangkok City in Bangkok on the 27th Oct and away to the Saigon Heat in Ho Chi Minh City on the 31st Oct. The Slingers will tip-off their Home schedule on Sunday 8th Nov at the OCBC Arena vs the Mono Vampires.
