Why do you like basketball?
The NBA basketball star, Derrick Rose is my idol. His speed and brilliant techniques inspired me to be like him. I started joining the team at the age of 13. This is my eleventh year.
What do you enjoy most when playing basketball?
I get to make a lot of friends when playing basketball. I enjoy playing alongside with my team. The competition brings about challenges and I also try to better myself with each game.
Do you like to challenge yourself?
Of course! As a professional basketball player, you will want to better yourself.
Do you feel stressful?
Yes. Hence, it is important to have strong mental concentration. My will and determination to do well in basketball is what motivates me to carry on.
Does the harsh training affect your character?
Of course. It makes me more self-disciplined. I would arrive 20 min or half an hour before training to warm up and prepare myself mentally and physically. Sports also increase my tolerance and resilience. No matter how tough the training or how tired I am, I will always complete the training. Not only does this applies in sports, it also applies in other aspects of life.
What advice do you have for those who aspires to become a basketball player?
Do not give up easily. Do not stop challenging yourself. No matter how small your physique are or other areas of shortcomings, keep trying and working hard. You will definitely see yourself improving and moving towards success.
