Singapore – The JobStreet.Com Singapore Slingers succumbed to the defensive pressure put up by the AirAsia Philippine Patriots in the second half, losing 80-75. This was the Slingers second consecutive loss after falling to the Chang Thailand Slammers in Overtime last week in Bangkok.

After a slow start to the game, the Slingers gained momentum in the 2nd quarter with their patented defense and only allowed the Patriots 13 points. Louis Graham was firing on all cylinders scoring 15 points in the first half. At the break, the JobStreet.Com Singapore Slingers led the AirAsia Philippine Patriots 36-31.

Former Slingers guard Al Vergara had a homecoming of sorts and started a rally for the visitors. He had 7points in the 3rd quarter as the Patriots outscored the Slingers28-18. At the end of the 3rd quarter, the Patriots took the lead 59-54 over the Slingers.

Unable to make their outside shots, the AirAsia Philippine Patriots pounded the ball inside in the final quarter. Turnovers proved to be the final dagger though as the Patriots forced the Slingers to pivotal lapses on offense.
