19th September 2014, Singapore – JobStreet.com Singapore Slingers survived a late rally from Hi-Tech Bangkok City to grab a 66-63 win at the OCBC Arena, Singapore.

Dior Lowhorn led the Slingers with 24 points and 13 rebounds. Wong Wei Long continued to prove himself as one of the better local players this season as he poured in 17 points. Justin Howard added 12 points and 19 rebounds for the Slingers who improved their record to 9-5 for the season which keeps the Slingers in third position in the AirAsia ASEAN Basketball League standings.

After trailing 14-13 at the end of the first quarter, things started to turn around for the Slingers in the second quarter. The Slingers opened the second period with three straight three-pointers from Vergara, Larry Liew and Wei Long to give the Slingers a 22-14 lead.
The Slingers entered the final quarter with a 52-40 lead. Desmond Oh made a triple at the beginning of the fourth quarter to give the Slingers their biggest lead of the game at 15, 55-40.

Trailing by 13 points with 6 minutes left, Steven Thomas and Wattana Suttisin sparked a late rally by Hi-Tech. They scored 13 unanswered points to get Hi-Tech within two points, 64-62, with 1:47 left. Both Thomas and Suttisin combined for 11 points during that stretch.

Hi-Tech had their chances to tie the game late but were unable to convert from the foul line. The Slingers handed Hi-Tech their third loss of the season after Wei Long knocked down two free throws and Steven Thomas missed a long range three-pointer at the buzzer.

The Slingers will look for their third straight win this Wednesday 24th September when they host Laskar Dreya, Indoensia at the OCBC Arena at 8.00pm.
