We fought a good 3 quarters of the game. A game is played with 4 quarters though. We have to be consistent, something we will work on during the off season,” said Coach Neo Beng Siang of the JobStreet.com Singapore Slingers.

The visiting Indonesia Warriors were off to a quick start at the beginning of the game as Evan Brock entertained the Singapore crowd with thunderous dunks that saw the Warriors get a 6-0 lead. The JobStreet.com Singapore Slingers, Singapore’s First and Only Professional Basketball Team, responded back by hitting their next 7 consecutive shots. Midway through the 1st Quarter, the Slingers held onto a 16-10 lead. The Warriors fought back though, and at the end of the opening quarter, the Slingers led 27-25.

The Slingers capitalized on the Warriors turnovers in the 2nd period as they led 39-30 with 6 minutes to go before halftime. Again, the Warriors crawled back and limited the Slingers lead by 3 points at halftime, 48-45.

The 3rd quarter was closely fought as well as both teams exchanged basket after basket. The quarter ended with the Warriors leading the Slingers 67-65.

Points off the bench was a key factor in the game as the Warriors bench outscored the Slingers’ 20-10 behind Prihantono’s 11 point and new recruit Dodo Sitepu’s 6 points. Sitepu made crucial back to back 3 pointers late in the game.

In the final game of the 3rd Season of the AirAsia ASEAN Basketball League, JobStreet.com Singapore Slingers General Manager Michael Johnson closed with this: “While we are disappointed with the loss tonight and missing out on the ABL Playoffs for the first time, we are happy with the improvement the team has made over the last 2 months. We are especially pleased with the improvements of some of our local players have made this season, with Wei Long and Desmond Oh averaging more than 20+ mins a game. We are looking forward already to a bigger and better season in the 2013.
