The Singapore Slingers are looking to stay undefeated against the Saigon Heat as the two teams battle it out again for the third time this season.

The Slingers are coming off a tough loss on the road to the new-look Mono Vampire. The Thai squad got the jump on Singapore with their fiery shooting but the Slingers made a gallant stand in the end game that painfully fell short. They are now looking to bounce back and a game at home is just what the doctor ordered.

It’s a crucial game for Singapore as they’re hot on the heels of Saigon in the team standings. The Heat have a 10-7 win-loss tally while the Slingers are at 9-7 so a win would allow them to leap into the third spot.

John Fields will be a key figure in this game as the takes on the hard-working Kyle Barone of the Heat. Fields has been solid as a rock in his first ABL season with 23.8 points and 12.4 rebounds per game.

However, the key to the game is slowing down the fiery offense of Saigon which all starts with Trevon Hughes. The talented guard averages 22.1 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 5.6 rebounds and handles the ball most of the time for the Heat.

The good thing for the Slingers have been good defensively this season, especially at home. Veteran guard Desmond Oh could get the first crack at slowing down Hughes but Xavier Alexander and Jerran Young could also get their chances against him.
