Late last week, 9-year Singapore Slingers player Ng Han Bin announced his retirement from professional basketball on his Instagram account.

The influx of love from fans, friends, and colleagues alike flooded both his personal account as well as the Singapore Slinger’s official social media platforms.

Two of his long-time teammates, Desmond Oh and Delvin Goh, joined in as they wrote their respective letters to the man they both called their brother.

Here is what they said:

Desmond’s Letter

Thank you for all that you have done for our team, it has been an honour suiting up alongside you for the past 9 years.

Thank you for being my friend, my team-mate, my brother, my family

Thank you for always giving your 101%, for grinding it out with me during training and games.

Thank you for your passion in nurturing the next generation of basketball, and your dedication to all the community work we have done together.

You may have hung up your basketball shoes but the memories we have created will live on forever.

Delvin’s Letter

A legend.

The guy that learned so much from Basketball.

Thank you for your effort throughout these years, for being consistent and believing in whatever you’re doing.

Thank you for always lending a hand to others even when you knew you needed as much help too.

Thank you for inspiring the younger generation to be good not just in Basketball but every aspect of life.

You are more than just a friend, you are a Brother.

Singapore Basketball will always remember Ng Han Bin.
