Slingers out to keep unbeaten start to season in Hong Kong

The Singapore Slingers will look to continue their unbeaten run to the start of the 2016-17 ABL season when they travel to Hong Kong for the top of the table clash against the Hong Kong Eastern Long Lions on Wednesday night.

Wednesday will be the Slingers 4th game in 2 weeks and the team 3rd away game in a row to start the season.

The Slingers finish a hectic first 2 weeks of the season on Wednesday in Hong Kong and they will not play again until the 18th of December when they face the powerhouse Alab Pilipinas team at OCBC Arena in Singapore.

The Slingers will be hoping that local star Leon Kwek can continue his hot start to the season. Kwek is averaging 18 points per game after 3 matches and has been one of the more consistant players on the Slingers roster early in the 2016-17 season.

Slingers head coach Neo Beng Siang said “We need all of our local players to contribute if we are to keep winning”. “We are still struggling to execute on offense but our defense has been able to keep us in games when our offense breaks down” said Neo.

Singapore Slingers fans can watch the Slingers vs Hong Kong Eastern Long Lions Live on Hub Sports Arena (Channel 112/205) or on mobile devices via the StarHub Go App from 8:00pm on Wednesday night.
