It has been an exhausting week for the Singapore Slingers as they played three road games before heading back to the OCBC Arena last Sunday.

The Slingers last played in front of their home crowd last December 21, 2018 in a tough loss to Hong Kong Eastern, 89-92. When the ASEAN Basketball League resumed, they had their first game of 2019 in Changhua City, Taiwan against the Formosa Dreamers.

Prior to that game, the Slingers went on an explosive five-game winning streak before falling to Hong Kong Eastern and San Miguel Alab Pilipinas as 2018 ended.

However, they would not be tamed as they defeated the Dreamers on their home soil, 88-80. It was a sweet victory for Singapore as Formosa handed them an opening loss when the ninth season of the ABL kicked off.

But their celebration would be cut short after Eastern outperformed them this time in front of the Wan Chai crowd in Hong Kong. The Slingers immediately regrouped and retaliated with a narrow overtime victory over the Wolf Warriors in Zhuhai.

Their next competitors would be Mono Vampire. With high stakes owing to the fact that that matchup was their first home game after five contests, the Slingers gave it their all on the hard court but ultimately fell short versus the Thailand-based squad.

The Singapore Slingers will have more time to regroup and focus on bettering their plays as they will be going on the road again to square off with the surging CLS Knights Indonesia who are coming off back-to-back victories.
