Slingers fade to drop final regular season home game

Singapore 19th March 2017

Singapore Slingers drop final regular season home game to the Saigon Heat 71 – 88. Playing without American Import Xavier Alexander, who was rested due to a shoulder injury, the Slingers faded badly in a disappointing 4th quarter. The Slingers led at halftime 38-34 and still held a 2 point lead at 3 quarter time but with their only two big’s Justin Howard & Delvin Goh both saddled with 4 fouls for most of the 4th quarter the Heat dominated inside the paint in the final 12 minutes.

Although disappointed with their final quarter defensive effort the Slingers who had already locked down the number 2 seed for the playoffs will now look towards their final regular season game in Saigon on Sat before flying home to start preparations for their semi final playoff series which opens on Sunday 2nd April at OCBC Arena.

The Slingers opponent for the semi finals series will be the Alab Pilipinas team who tonight defeated the Hong Kong Eastern Long Lions.
