Singapore Slingers hold off Alab Pilipinas to take their record to 4-1

Singapore: 18th December 2016

The Singapore Slingers finish off another close game against Alab Pilipinas at the OCBC Arena in Singapore today 71-68. The game went down to the wire, but the Slingers were able to hold their nerve and came away with a 3 point win.

Xavier Alexander made crucial plays when it mattered most, especially his steal and fastbreak dunk that put the Singapore Slingers up by 5 with less than 30 seconds to go.

Alexander had 25 points, 12 rebounds, 1 assist, and 2 steals to solidify his status as today’s AirAsia Player of the Game!

Justin Howard had 18 points and 12 rebounds in support of Alexander. Slingers local Mitch Folkoff stepped up on defense helping to restrict Alab Pilipinas Star player Bobby Ray Parks Jr to a season low 15 points.

Delvin Goh made his first appearance for the Slingers this season due to National Service commitments and the big man made his presence felt with some valuable minutes on court.

Alexander: 25 pts & 12 rebounds

Howard: 18 pts & 12 rebounds

Ng Han Bin: 8 pts

Mitchell Folkoff: 7 pts

Leon Kwek: 7 pts

The Slingers will now have a quick turnaround as the fly to Hong Kong to play the Hong Kong Eastern Long Lions in their final game before the Christmas break.
